The Galaxy S has built-in Wifi, giving you full access to the web. It even supports flash so web pages will appear just as they do on a computer, and they'll also look at their best on the superb, bright and clear 5" touch-screen. It also gives you access to email, Google maps and social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter.

Portable media playback is another forte of the Galaxy S. It supports a wide range of video, music and photo formats and can even stream them from DLNA devices such as PCs and NAS drives and Samsung 'AllShare' and 'Smart' TVs. There are loads of freely available Android apps including ones that let you use the Galaxy S with Samsung Smart TVs such as the D7000 and D8000 series sets. With these compatible sets you can use the Galaxy S as a remote control and even stream content to and from the TV. You can stream whatever is showing on your TV, watch one source on your TV and a different one on the Galaxy S, and even turn off your TV and continue watching on the tablet.

On top of all this there are all the usual apps you'd expect from a tablet such an office suite and calendar apps, and there's a built-in 3MP camera for even more fun.
