With Gas hobs you should check the clearances required by law of any surrounding or overhead cupboards units or extractor hoods before fitting (Especially if replacing a smaller unit with a larger one)
Also if the appliance is to be installed in a multi apartment dwelling it is a legal requirement that it's fitted with safety flame failure device

All gas appliances must be installed by a GasSafe registered engineer

Gas appliances in very small kitchens - 30 cubic metres or less i.e.Floor area 3mtrs x 5mtrs approx
or kitchens with no direct exterior door, may also require an air brick to be fitted by law for your own safety if you don't already have one
